Drawing inspiration from pinup portraiture, calendar girls, and vintage Philippine portraits, multidisciplinary artist Jodinand Aguillon and myself worked with the members of Toronto-based performance art collective, HATAW, to reimagine these photographs – merging a romanticized connection to the past, challenging the idea of femininity and expectations of how Filipina woman are perceived.

Originally compiled as a wall calendar in 2016, the portraits were then exhibited at the Fringe Manila Festival in February 2017 in a show entitled AFTER EVE. Featuring the "Kalendaryo" portraits and VINTA Gallery's "Tropical Gothic" collection, AFTER EVE was a mixed media collaboration highlighting the artistic expressions of Filipino immigrants who remain rooted in their culture and represent Filipino experiences through their unique lenses and narratives.
