In 1864, 23 delegates from four British colonies met in Charlottetown to discuss an audacious idea: creating a new political union that would tie the fortunes of these colonies and ultimately cross a continent. Three years later, Confederation was achieved and Canada was born.
To mark the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference, PEI 2014 is calling on 100 young Canadians to gather in Charlottetown this autumn and reimagine their country’s future.
